I studied Civil Engineering at University of A Coruña (Spain). After graduation, I was granted a fellowship from Fundación Barrié, which allowed me to study a Master’s of Science at MIT, USA, where I moved in 2003. At MIT I worked on environmental fluid mechanics and sediment transport with Ole Madsen, and I obtained a PhD in 2009. After finishing my PhD, I moved to France. Between 2009 and 2015, I did several postdocs on biophysics and biomechanics. I first worked with Françoise Brochard-Wyart and Christophe Clanet at Institut Curie in Paris, and then with Abdul Barakat, Emmanuel de Langre (Ecole Polytechnique) and Paul-Henry Cournède at LadHyX at Ecole Polytechnique. Since 2015 I work as an assistant professor at the Metz site of University of Lorraine.
